Magnetic Personality...

Some people are magnets. It's nothing we do per say. It's just who we are. Some of us attract wealth. Some of us attract talent, others beauty. It's that magnetic personality you hear of.

I, as it turns out, do have a magnetic personality. I, however, attract morons.

I try to dress nice. I stand up straight. I try to sound some what literate and coherent. I shower on a daily basis.

Today I was talking with a woman about a, "Two. Thousand. Year. Old. Buddha. From. India." Which I pointed out to her, explaining the rarity and value of such antiquities.

She listened to what I had to say, looks me right in the face and asks: "Are you the artist?"

I kid you not. And I said, with out hesitation: "Yes. Yes I am". She nodded and said: "You're very good."

Yes. Yes I am. I am very good at attracting morons.

MORONS!

This is my power. This is my curse!

For the love of God, how do I demagnetize?

When we moved from Washington, DC, to Thailand, a woman I worked with asked...

"So, ya gonna drive?"

As in, are you going to rent a U-haul and drive from DC to Thailand.

All I could say was "No." But I kinda wish I had told her that yes, we were going to drive across the oceans and such. Would have been more satisfying.

On an only slightly related topic, you are in FANTASTIC shape for a guy who has been around for more than 2000 years. That Buddhism thing really must be working for you.

Wow. I think people are often so busy talking that they don't listen.

I don't know whether to laugh or be very afraid! That's rather scary huh?

I have this. But it's with crazy people and only when I'm on public transportation.

That makes the thing I said to my brother sound so much less stupid.

(He drove in from Virginia for the OSU/Michigan game. As we were talking I asked "Where is it?" In all fairness I realized my mistake as soon as I made the statement. BTW, it was a home game and they were playing at the Horseshoe.)

Think of it not as attracting morons, but rather entertainment. You attract comic relief. You're very lucky!

Montel and Jerry Springer attract morons.
