Ready Or Not...

The house is packed. Pretty much. A few odds and ends left. The yard sale cleared out a huge chunk of our past. Thank goodness. You dig through boxes and find things that you haven't seen for months or years and wonder why on earth you have kept this trinket and drug it all over the planet, and at the same time you have a pang of, guilt, for lack of a better word, when you put in the 'for sale' pile. What the hell is that about? If it meant anything to me I would have had it out, or at least remembered where it came from or why I still have it. Guilt be damned, be gone knick knack.

Cleansing is a good thing. So is the stack of cash and knowledge that those unremembered knick knacks will be collecting dust on someone's shelves that are not ours.

My mind is everywhere, and no where. I have moved everything that I will need for the summer. I painted for the first time since mid March. Two still lifes for a local cooking school.
An apple and a pear. Single pieces of fruit, solitary and alone. Coincidence or self abuse? Neither, I want the cash. The months will only drag if I let them. A plane can have me by their sides in less than four hours, and it will, about every three weeks. Southwest frequent flyer program (and hours with Dr. Bob) here I come.

I havn't moved house for a few years now and have accumulated the most apalling piles of useless rubbish! I really should do a bit of clearing out soon, it's supposed to be good for the soul...or something.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other and those 3 weekly visits will come around so quickly. In the meantime, we'll be here :o)

Penelope,

I so love the way you Brits talk. Unloading is a great weight off of your shoulders. I need to pitch rubbish more often. I already have my tickets for the first two visits.

Oh, I need to do a yard sale, but I hate organizing them. Bleh! But it does feel so great when you're done. Perhaps I will afterall...

There is something very freeing about selling your stuff. I know this transition will be challenging but I hope that it is leading you all to the life you want. I'm rooting for you!

William,
After reading this post, I can't help but see some of the positives. Trying very hard not to sound cliche, it really is a time for renewal. You know the one about one door closes and another one opens..Yadda Yadda.
Actually, I have been thinking a lot abot this same stuff. I feel stuck. I feel the burden of having too much STUFF. I feel like I need to shake the bottle to see the fizz. The only thing that is stopping me is total, undeniable, all consuming FEAR. I applaud your bravery.
